This tuner is really great and precise! To use it at best you have to be in a quiet room though. I really enjoy the "cents" feature to be as accurate as possible. My only wish was that the Peterson strobo clip had that feature as well! You can also personalize the tuner with different color themes, change the key of the tuner, and so much more! I highly recommend this tuner for any serious musician who has a good ear!

Perfect. Now I have my tuner always in my pocket. Only 4 stars cause of a popup concerning low memory.

Before using the iStrobosoft, you may think that it is just a tuner that does its job. In fact it is a high precision tool that can be used also in instrument making. Its accuracy is so high that you really need to rethink how to adjust your instrument. I love it

Actual Peterson strobe tuners cost hundreds or sometimes a thousand dollars. For ten bucks you cant beat this. Its very responsive and the sound isolation feature is something I havent seen on many tuners.

Ive been using the PC version of this for quite some time and this is something that Ive been waiting for Petersen to release. It works really well on all instruments that I have tried. My only suggestion would be for sensitivity and speed controls like they have on the mac/pc version. It can be a bit jumpy.

Great App, works better than most tuners on the market and yes you can intonnate your guitars and basses with this app and i just compaired it to a 250 dollars boss tuner and this app did my intonnation on two bass guitar better, it does take a little while to get use to using it just take your time at first and youll love it.

This is as accurate as my genuine Peterson VS-II tuner. I think the display on the iPhone is better, because it is clearer and brighter than the one in the VS-II. The display is somewhat jumpy, even for somebody who is used to a "real" Peterson tuner. The noise filter is pretty good, and the input gain control is nice to have. I have used the Peterson 1/4" adaptor with an electric guitar, and it works fine, as well. If Peterson will be doing updates on this, I would like to suggest that they put their "sweetened" tunings in, along with the Buzz Feiten tuning offsets. They may want to look at some sort of software dampening, switchable if possible, to keep the display a little more stable. I dont know if putting in the various temperaments would be possible, but they may want to consider the temperaments as add-ons at extra charge. That way , the base software package can stay cheap, and people who actually want the added temperaments need pay for them. Kostas

The tunings for the low e and d strings are not accurate at all on my new Rogers Iphone 3GS. I am using the most recent version of the software as well. I have compared the Istrobosoft to various other chromatic tuners and my Peterson Stroboflip (using the equal temperment settings). With the Istrobosoft the low e reads flat by 10 cents when it is in tune. The d string reads flat by 5 cents when it is in tune. UPDATE: This tuner now appears to be working correctly. Since downloading a different application, this one started working correctly. It appears to have been a problem with the initial installation. It appears like it didnt work correclty until the phone was rebooted.

Buying this app with the adapter cable is recommended. I have some other 1/4" adapters that just didnt work. I am happy I can use this app late at night and not bother my sleeping family.

Ive tried a few other tuner programs on the iPhone and most of them couldnt even tell what note I was playing on my trombone or any other instrument. Not only does this one work but its fast and more accurate than my Korg tuner. Well work the money.

I paid lots of money for my three Peterson 490ST. So for $10, this is a quality iPhone app at a bargain price. For enhancement, please add stretch tuning feature and Ill be glad to pay for the option.

Its all true. This is a great app even without the adaptor. Worked in a loud bar tuning a five string bass with the phone in front of the amp.

Petersons has a great reputation for serious (professional) strobe tuners, I own two of them in my guitar rig. When I saw this app, I figured it was a gimmick, but I bought it anyway - folks, this is not a gimmick. This is the real deal, and when you consider that the price is $9.99 vs hundreds of dollars for even a stomp-box version, this is a steal, AND you get to carry it around in your pocket. I bought the connecting cable too, although it will work ok-ish without it. An amazing application, I use it all the time now. I also found a little stand for the iPhone so I can use the app without the phone flopping around (and getting scratched). If Peterson is reading this, how about a cable that allows bypass so I dont have to keep unplugging my amp cable?

I use this in the studio every day on bass and guitars. I dont even bother to take out my hardware tuner any more.

I use the strobostomp in my live rig and this is arguably as good. Amazing software. Super accurate. Every other tuning app is an imitation. You will not be dissatisfied

I downloaded this and it worked great, and the same day I upgraded my iphone to os4 and now the strobe function doesnt work. Although I can still tune by using the up/down arrows, it was disappointing that I was only able to use this fully for one morning. I am hoping they will come out with a fix on the next upgrade because I really did like this app.

Very accurate tuner (I have the adapter cable, but even the iPhones mic is very accurate within 1 cent)! I use this for tuning my pedal steel guitar mostly. I use a custom tuning chart, so the accurate +/- cents display feature is a must. Because of the accuracy, I would bet that this is just as good as buying one of the expensive stroboflip hardware units. Thank you! PS. My only complaint is that it took a few days to release the iOS4 fix; I was without my tuner for almost a week!

Yes! Its a pretty good measure of how much Ive come to depend on this app, that I was biting my nails for the few days that it was out of service after the OS 4.0 upgrade. I love the always-there convenience of having a Strobostomp built into in my iPhone. Other tuners pale in comparison, both in terms of accuracy and ease of use. I do a lot of instrument setups, and Ive never found any non-Peterson pedal or rack tuner that is accurate enough for setting intonation. I can hear the difference, and so can many of my friends and customers.
