I downloaded this onto my iPhone 6, tuned my acoustic guitar in about 45 seconds, and was pleased at how simple it was to use. I found it because of a friends suggestion - definitely worth it!

The Peterson Tuner for iOS is phenomenal on my iPhone 6s Plus. The help section (accessible from within the app itself) are first rate. Simple tips for accurate tuning are given to you for the best possible result and very complicated electronic jargon is translated into understandable terms. After you settle into using this tuner, it becomes evident - the Developer wants you to enjoy using (and continue to use) this App. Ill admit at first I felt nervous using such a sophisticated tuner. Id read about strobe tuners, but had never used one and it seemed like quite a bit to wrap my mind around. I just wanted to tune my guitars, not launch the space shuttle. But this App makes you do a complete 180 degree turn and embrace its accuracy. And now my guitars are tuned so accurately they honestly stay in tune far longer than they ever have before. Now tell me THAT isnt a huge plus?! Less time tuning equals more time doing whats important; making music!! HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

I purchased this tuner to help tune my pipe band (Scottish highland pipes). For an extra $10, you can buy the "World" sweetener pack that has a GHB (great highland bagpipe) setting. I can get me and my pipers so much better in tune using this than other bagpipe tuning apps, or even stand-alone tuning devices. The only nit is it takes a few too many clicks to adjust the Hz (as the pipes are constantly moving as you play), but that is too minor to take a star away from an otherwise excellent app.

Tis good times tone thing, make musik soun better

Has always been the best iPhone tuner on market by far. Ive actually recorded bands records tuning with this thing. All of the sudden, now it wont pick up on my unplugged electric guitar. Will not tune it. I will try plugging in tomorrow, but this has never been a problem in the past.

When used properly with an iRIG this app is deadly accurate, it works better for intonation than the chromatic tuner the techs at guitar center use.

There are lots of free tuners out there, but its worth it to pay a little and get one that is pretty much perfect. Its more accurate than my trusty old Conn strobe tuner. No joke.

Elegant and functional

Beautiful tuner with anything you could possibly need. I have even used the tap function on my phone to fine tune rosewood xylophone bars. I have been using it for conducting symphonic winds, timpani changes mid-piece, guitar lessons etc. for four years now. Worth every penny I paid and then some. GET IT.

A must have for any advanced guitarist.

Buy the accessory cable to plug in your instrument and youre set. Cutomisable colours and loads of features beyond my needs. I got all my bandmates to buy it and they love it too.

Update for iPhone 6Plus: this app still is the best tuner on the market. Love it and all of the updates have been excellent. I have been using this on my 3G for months and just got an iPhone 4. Thanks for the quick update. I was just about to write in and submit the frozen strobe bug when I saw that you had fixed it already! I wish the dongle/adapter had an output, like the iRig adapter by IK Multimedia, so that you could pass the sound through while tuning, but it works great as is. Also, since it is such a SIMPLE adapter, I would really like to see the adapter at a $5.99-$7.99 range instead of over $12... BTW, IK Multimedia is out of their minds selling their adapter for $39.95! Change that to $19.95 with the full software included and it would sell thousands instead of hundreds of units. Make your unit for $15.99 with an output like theirs and people will buy yours instead of theirs to use with iRig! Anyway, back to the iStrobe. It works, plain and simple. If you do your own setups on your guitars, this is the tuner to get for the iPhone (and their hardware tuners are the best too). Thank you Strobosoft for not gauging us for the iPhone software.

Accurate and provides great visual feedback.

I have no complaints at all. This is a great tuning app. Highly recommend it.

A must-have tuner app - worth every penny.

What can I say? It works, has no trouble locking in and the strobe interface makes for fast accurate tuning. I dont use any of the advanced features so I cant speak to ease of use beyond having an accurate tuner that is always handy.

I bought the basic tuner plus the guitar and Buzz Feiten sweeteners. I also bought an iRig and mini-mic from Amazon. You really dont need the mini-mic of your Apple device has a later iOS (according to Marshall @ Peterson), but for $3 (Amazon), what could it hurt? Anyway, I love this setup! You can really see how close to being in tune you are. The two controls : input boost and noise filter are used when tuning an acoustic thru the built-in device mic or the optional mini-mic. Electric or acoustic-electric guitars use the iRig or some other adaptor and are connected directly into the device. The input boost and noise filter are normally not required. I think I spent around $40 for everything and am really happy. Finally, I got a Really Good Tuner!! One more thing, the support from Peterson is outstanding. My emails were answered quickly and my questions answered expertly. (Thanks, Marshall!) Do yourself a favor and get in tune already!

As a professional guitar tech, I cart around several tuners. The Peterson StroboRack, a VS II, and a VS I, but this app has come in handy many times as well! Every bit a accurate as my other Peterson tuners, and it fits in my pocket. Nice one Peterson! Thanks!!

I also own a Peterson V-SAM in addition to the iStrobosoft. I often dreaded carrying along the extra case with my tuner when my hands were already full with a guitar and other equipment. This app helped consolidate by placing the highly accurate tuner that I have come to trust right on my phone. I am especially fond of the extra visual add-ons which allows me to see why my strings sound dead at times. Who would have thought that my overtones were out of tune with the principal note which was making me sound bad? Very nicely done!
